Rob Roi Perlezon aka "Bob" is our
first Arabian/Friesian cross. He is currently being trained to accept
the bit and saddle. He
has awesome trainability and seems to want to please. (Typical Friesian
trait) He definitely looks like a Friesian but he has the movement of
an Arabian with a great extended trot.
We would like "Bob" to
be an all around prospect for multi-disciplines including endurance,
pleasure riding, dressage and driving since he is
already so talented. Bob has now completed 6 months of classical dressage
training with Jec A. Ballou. In September, Bob was shown at the 2004
Arabian Sport Horse Nationals and went Top Ten in the sport horse in
hand half Arabian gelding class! There were nearly 40 entries in this
class, so we are very proud of his achievement! Bob is currently in driving
and dressage training with Mark Schuerman Show and Sport Horses. He
just competed in his first show in sport horse under saddle ATR and Junior
horse classes. He and I are new to Class A show riding and we were
proud to earn a third (with only one week of show preparation) in the
large Junior horse class at the Diablo Arabian Horse Association show. We
also earned a score of 81 in our in hand class – lots of 8s and
9s! Thanks much to our professional trainer and friend Mark Schuerman
for his encouragement and mentoring.
Bob has also completed a "fun" 15-
mile endurance ride in Oakland, CA and had a Cardiac Recovery Index of
48/48 as a fat three year old
with hardly any trail experience! So we proved that Friesian crosses
do have stamina and BIG hearts!
UPDATE: Bob completed the American River
30 Mile Ride in April in flying colors and earned a lot of attention
with his handsome Friesian presence. He
had awesome trail sense and great recoveries all day.
SOLD! Congratulations
to the Baldwin family of Hawaii!
